These songs are from an artist named Jon Hopkins. He worked on the Coldplay album and recently went on tour with them. I actually found out about him totally by accident at a show for another band I went to see (The Asteroids Galaxy Tour) He was opening up and totally blew me away. I was so impressed with his live show (much harder than his chilled out album, he cut everything up and did some really cool stuff). Anyway you may recognize the beginning of his song "Light Through The Veins" from one of the coldplay tracks. This song blew me away, as it just slowly builds and builds and builds. He continues to loop in different instruments and layer them over and over until the end. Try to count how many different loops you hear. It reminds of a fractal, just gets deeper and deeper the more you look (or in this case listen).

This other song is called Insides, its an example of some of his more abrasive, harder sounding work. He really changed this one up a lot in the live show and did some crazy things with it. The whole place was rocking out. I was really impressed. It's not my favorite track, but if you're interested in the first one, I wanted to give you the flip side to know what to expect if you ever get a chance to check him out (which I recommend). You should listen through as about 1/2 of the way through there is an awesome "bell" sound.
