...of indie rock into hip hop? or vice versa. Here are a couple of great tracks that combine indie hip hop and and indie rock in a great way. Starting off we have a crazy combo of Wiz Khalifa (MTV's 2010 Hottest Breakthrough MC)dropping a verse over Empire of the Sun's "Walking on a Dream". In one of the last songs you'd think that would make for a hip-hop mash up, you get a really positive, fun vibe out of it. Follow that up with Hoodie Allen speeding up and rhyming over one of my favorite bands new tracks. That song being The Black Key's "Tighten Up" off their 2010 disc "Brothers". We round out the group with Kidz in The Hall taking on one of the biggest indie rock songs of 2009/2010, Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks". Check 'em out and see how well these two genres can mesh when done right.
