Amber Skye

New track from NYC based Artist Amber Skye. This song was actually produced by a producer that I went to school with back in the day. Her name is Lena Leon, and she's an up and coming producer who's been working with some big names lately, both writing songs and producing tracks. Hopefully you'll see her name in some big liner notes soon. Amber's voice is a great mix of Robyn, KT Tunstall and Meredith Brooks. Here is her new track Secret, and one of my old favorites (also produced by LL) Running on Low.

West Virginia By Way of London

Backing away from hip hop and electronic music for a minute, this folksy group from London sounds like they were born in West Virginia. I mean that in the nicest and most complimentary way possible. Seriously, great song, dripping in Americana spirit and sound. Really digging this song on a mellow and wet Friday afternoon.

Plan B. and Plan A.

This 1st song (The Recluse)was tweeted about by Rusko recently claiming to be his "Ride Out" song. If he's down with it, I'm down with it. Catchy, with clever use of bells and super fast dance drums. Pretty cool stuff, contrasts nicely with the 8-bit style sound of the 2nd song (Which I find both refreshingly unique and surprisingly fun.)

This song is exactly why Kanye west is so likable. (Pajama Rich.)

First off, after a 8 hr road trip this weekend in which my infamous best and worst of Swizz Beats mixtape was played...I have to say, this would go on the best of side. This beat is really catchy and he doesn't go over the top (although his chorus is a bit annoying, it does get stuck in your head.) Kanye's verse is the exact type of over the top, luxury arrogant flow with witty rhymes, perfect pacing and a great ability alter his own style mid-verse. He is top 3 rapper going right now in my book. (Also his production is still off the hook.)

Seriously, big week ahead. Start it up!

TURN YOUR SPEAKERS UP - WEEKEND IS HERE

This beat is so ill. I love everything about it, mostly because, if you know me, I love any beats that have "beeps" involved. It's got this really cool electric but industrial feel.

This is done by A-Trak and features Cyhi da Prince (who you may recognize from some tracks with Kid Cudi and a few tracks with Wale.) .

Check this out, listen to it 2x and see if you can get Ray Ban Vision out of your head.

" it's like a computer factory was having a party and all the machine's made the beat."

All Played Out

New Gorillaz. This song is named after the retro drum machine "Donca Matic" from Japan that they used to create the beat. Damon Albarn is quoted as saying that he just got this one riff from a song he was working on stuck in his head and decided to make into a full length song. It features vocals from UK artist Daley and will be dropped as an official single on November 22nd. Look for more releases from the Gorillaz coming soon.

Lose It

I officially cannot wait for Mark Ronson's new album Record Collection, it'll be full of synths, great beats and chock full of guest appearances. Just listen to the old school sound, and how great the drums on this track are. I'm also a big fan of the echo-ing effect on (eh-eh-eh-eh-end.) Throw some Ghostface (aka. Ghostface Killah, aka. Tony Stark, aka. Pretty Toney, aka The Wallabee Kingpin) on the track and I'm set. Catchy, fun, good. Enjoy.

Just heard this song and can't place the commercial that I've heard it on recently. Any help?

I'm lost in the woooooork.

Seriously, slammed right now and wish I had more time to write about this. Including Kanye stopping sharing free music for this song being leaked from his new album. But I've got to keep on keeping on at the office. So...this song didn't stick %100 percent for me the first time, but then I realized it was stuck in my head. On repeat. Over and over.

Listen at your own risk. Keep on Chopping.
